Instrument Donation

Thank you to Alison Young (parent of Charlie Young, Year 12) who donated a Cello to the Instrumental Music Program. We appreciate this generous donation and know that this will go on to benefit and inspire budding musicians. In her lovely words:

“It's our hope that there may be a student there who could make good use of the cello; and if there isn't a cellist in need of a cello right now, perhaps the School could offer it as an opportunity to any interested student. When I was at high school in Scotland, this is how I came to learn bassoon - someone donated a bassoon to the school and I was the successful applicant! It would be lovely to think of this cello as being able to create the same kind of opportunity for a student at MGC.”

Pedal Power Cinema Performers

Thank you to all the students who performed at the Pedal Power Cinema. They entertained the crowd from 6pm, putting on an excellent showcase of vocal and instrumental performances. The floor was also open to any brave souls who wanted to perform, so thank you to those who jumped at the chance! It was also wonderful to see some past students return to support the event. Marissa Di Marzio (2019) turned up and spontaneously joined the Soul Band on the Drums! Thank you to Andy Clarke for your general assistance and directing the Soul Band.

Performers on the night were: Meera Datt, Vivienne Carey, Freya Swannell, Indi Edwards, Lucy Skelton, Audrey Ahmed, Elsa Symons, Jemima Kavanagh, Suzy Tetaz, Isobel Edmonson, Bea James, Jaeda Mcpherson, Alex Morris, Imogen Leigh, Heather Stevenson, Meredith Ross-James, Ashley Osborne, Laura Wilcox, Felicity Edmonson, Sandu Mahapatuna, Aimee Stranks.
