FROM THE PRINCIPAL....
Dear Parents, Teachers and Students
It has been an extremely busy start to the 2017 year.
YEAR 11 STUDY CAMP
The Year 11 study camp, which was held at the Lady Northcote Recreation Camp set in the picturesque Rowsley Valley close to Bacchus Marsh, was a huge success with students receiving advice on how to successfully prepare themselves for VCE, while challenging themselves on the outdoor education courses. It was a very positive start to the year with students gaining a lot from their experience. See the report on the camp elsewhere in this edition of the Cheltonian.
A special thankyou to the following staff for making themselves available, Mr Collings, Ms Farrington-Williams, Ms Knight, Mrs O’Shaughnessy, Ms Peluso, Ms East, Ms Stigger, Mrs Arneil, Mr Au, Mr Sanders, Mr Younger and Presenter Ben Darwin.
SWIMMING SPORTS
Our swimming sports, a whole school event was held on Monday 20th February. The weather was a bit ordinary but the day turned out to be a hugh success – see the report in the later pages of the newsletter.
COMPASS
As you would be aware we introduced Compass at the beginning of the school year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our students and their families for taking this learning journey along with our staff at the college. The feedback we have had so far has been very positive. If you need any assistance please call the college and speak to either Lee, Jan or Jill in Reception. If they are not able to help with your problem they will pass you on to our ICT staff.
Please also refer to the attached Compass guide
Please keep giving us your feedback on what is not working, but also what does work for you. We have also not lost sight of the fact that everybody is progressing at different rates.
COMPUTERS – BYOD
Thanks to the ICT team for all of their hard work getting the program started this year. Our ICT team are methodically working through the requests from students and their families for assistance.
WINDSOR GARDENS
Tryouts for Windsor Games have begun. Windsor Garden is a long running tradition and I would encourage students and their families to become involved. More information available later in the newsletter.
