Cultural And Language Diversity Family Picnic 

This semester I have mentioned many times the importance of the smaller communities within our whole school community. At Staughton we strongly value events where we can all come together to celebrate. Last week we had another example of this with our CALD family picnic. Despite some inclement weather, many families came along. It was great to see the primary siblings of some of our students. The event involved student performances from different cultural backgrounds, games and sharing of food. Even when the rain forced the final stages of the event inside, students and their families continued to have a great time!

I would like to particularly thank our multicultural aide Yvette Medina and our EAL Co-ordinator Felicity Hemiak for their work in coordinating the event. Many other staff also attended and actively participated.
