Graduates Afternoon Tea

On the 4th February the school held a Graduates Afternoon Tea for the 2015 Cohort.

This event provided a fantastic opportunity for students and staff to reconnect and share their plans  for 2016 and beyond.

It was lovely to see the camaraderie and care with which this group of young people were able to reconnect.  From a school perspective it was very rewarding to see them interact , transformed into independent, responsible and focused young adults ready to take on the world.

It was great to hear all their plans for 2016 and beyond which ranged from; taking up studies at University, TAFE and as part of Apprenticeships/Traineeships, working full time or have a GAP year to travel/volunteer.

Their pathways are all very different but all successful in their own right.

For the school the graduates expressed their thanks for all of the amazing programs and experiences they were able to access across their 6 year journey with Fairhills.  And they were thankful for the skill set they developed across their school years that will enable them to drive their own Career path.

We wish them all the best in their endeavours and encourage them to take advantage of their choices that come their way - enjoy the journey!

VET IN SCHOOL

The commencement of VET in school programs has been extremely positive with students indicating that they are happy and excited about the program ahead of them.

Just a couple of important reminders; students who wish to change their VET must see Elizabeth Rundle as soon as possible.  Most programs are now full and the choices are very limited but not impossible.  Anyone wishing to change a VET needs to do so by the end of next week.  After next week it will not be possible to start a VET progarm for 2016.

May we remind parents & students that all VET materials costs should now be finalised.

Students whose materials costs have not been paid by the set date will be withdrawn from VET and enrolled in an alternative program.  After February 26th students who withdraw from VET will be required to pay the cost of materials in full.

If you have any concerns or questions about VET please don't hesitate to contact Elizabeth Rundle in the Careers Office.
