Y12 Conference

Year 12 students attended the annual Study Conference at Deakin University in early February to support them in this most challenging and demanding year.

Students displayed a very positive and cooperative attitude as they participated in a range of workshops including study skills, relaxation techniques, stress management, well-being, careers sessions and campus tours at both Deakin and Box Hill TAFE.

Red Frogs delivered their Safe Schoolies Experience seminar and trialled their new 'Transitions' session focussing on some of the transitions the Year 12 students will make - into the workforce, into university studies and moving out of home.

The highlight of the Conference by far was special guest speaker and dual bronze medallist Maddy Hogan, a wonderful young woman Paralympian Javelin Thrower from the Victorian Institute of Sport.

She was entertaining, humorous, witty, impactful and had all the students in stitches whilst at the same time hitting all the messages of motivation, inspiration and balance.

We wish her the very best as she heads towards the Rio Olympics later this year.

We were also extremely excited to announce at the Conference our new School Captains for 2016 - May Ou and Nathan Baldock.

Lastly a very special thanks to all our amazing Year 12 students, to the staff who attended and delivered sessions and Deakin University who kindly hosted us at their venue.
