MESSAGES FROM JUDITH CLELLAND

Welcome to 2019 in the Secondary Campus at Collingwood College.

A particular welcome to all our new Year 7 students and the many new students within all the other year levels.

Our returning staff members have included some updated information about themselves and we welcome both Rachel and Kristyn back to the college. We are very pleased to have such skilled teachers returning to join the very committed group of staff members already here.

At the end of last year we unfortunately said goodbye to Craig Elvery and Jason Drewe and more recently to Majella Amarasingham. We wish Craig, Jason and Majella all the best in their new ventures and I would like to acknowledge all the great work they did here and the very positive contributions they made to student well being, attendance and achievement.

Jeremy Carr has recently started here to take up the role of Academic Facilitator and the driver of the bus between Collingwood and Fitzroy. Welcome Jeremy.

At this stage the beginning of the year has run fairly smoothly with just a few hiccups with Compass and therefore some timetables. However these minor issues will be resolved in the next week or so and I am excited to see that all our students are engaged and already working well in their new subjects for 2019.

There are a number of important events already planned for Term 1, 2019 so please keep an eye on the calendars and the announcements in this newsletter and Compass. The Year 7 camp is coming up and the Year 10 Steiner Farm camp is about to start on Sunday.

Please remember to contact your child’s advisor or Homegroup teacher if you have any concerns about your child and their learning and/or wellbeing.

There are also Year Level Coordinators and Learning Community leaders you can contact if you are unable to reach the homegroup teacher or advisor.
