Urban Camp

The Year 11 VCAL group recently spent two days exploring Melbourne and enjoying its attractions as part of their Urban Camp experience. They started their day in the Flagstaff Gardens with team building ice breakers including juggling, spinning plates, manipulating hula hoops and making artful poi arrangements. They then explored many of the cities attractions including Southbank, the City Circle Trams, the Docklands, Melbourne Bike Share and various retail precincts. Their day finished off with an Italian dinner and a movie at Crown Cinemas. The following day the group toured the Melbourne Aquarium and were wowed by its amazing creatures. They then headed to the Queen Victoria Market in anticipation of their upcoming VCAL Market Day to see a range of businesses in action. The day wrapped up with some final exploration of city sights and the trip back to Frankston. Over the course of the two days, the students developed and improved their working relationships with each other and their teachers, navigated the city and its public transport system and enjoyed new experiences. The staff that accompanied them were impressed with their willingness to have a go at new things, their cooperative attitudes and their ongoing commitment to being great ambassadors for MSC!
