Parent & Friends Association - Inaugural Meeting
We are pleased to announce that the inaugural meeting of the Edenhope College Parents and Friends Association
Where: Edenhope College ‘Centre’.
When: 3.30 pm, 15 October
A crèche will be available.
The aim of the association is largely to address the enthusiasm a lot of parents have shown to be more involved in the work of the College. This is from one parent, just recently:
The P and F Association are pleased that we can address parent feedback by meeting and working out new ways to improve parent involvement in the school. As a parent I often hear that parents would love to help and observe the kids at school but they aren't sure how. Also I have heard that as a new parent especially it is hard to adjust to a new system and they need extra help in communication between home and school. We are really looking forward to addressing these issues and helping out the College.
We hope that as many people as possible can attend this first meeting. Office bearers will be chosen, but for the most part we expect this first meeting to be a positive discussion of how we can move forward together.
We need more parents in the SWPBS team!
Can you help?
The School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) implementation team has been hard at work developing our SWPBS framework since the beginning of the year. However, this will likely be a 3-5 year process before implementation is complete.
In that time, we hope that many teachers, students, and parents, will have been part of the journey.
We are currently looking for a few more parents to be part of the team as we move into Term 4 this year and into 2019.
Meetings are held every four weeks (or so), and are usually for an hour at most. There is no commitment other than to attend and participate in the discussion and the decision making. We simply need parents who share a desire to make the College a better place for their children (our students).
At this stage, we currently expect to hold meetings (in the Centre from 3:35 to 4:35) on the following dates in Term 4:
- 22 October
- 12 November
- 17 December
Please come along if interested in being a part of this framework.

Headspace Roadshow Bus
Headspace is launching telehealth between secondary schools and headspace centre in Horsham. The best way to showcase the technology is to experience it. A large 5 wheeler bus set up with telehealth for students and teachers to experience will be visiting Edenhope College on October 18 & 19.
