General School News

Communications

Welcome to the new look Whytalla.  It is one of a number of ways through which the College is striving to improve communications. This new digital version of the newsletter is easier to read and  will be available and accessible on several social media platforms. It will continue to be emailed out to students and parents, as well as being available through Xuno and on the Edenhope College website.

We also encourage parents who aren't already to use Xuno to communicate with the school. For those of you that are, we hope you are aware of all of its functions, which include;

  • News (Whytalla and school wide notices)
  • Messaging (your child's teachers)
  • review and notify of your child's absence
  • review and update details (Contact Details, Events/Camps/Excursions, Incidents & Medical Details)
  • view class details (Timetables, Lessons/Assignments/Tasks)
  • Results (NAPLAN, Reports, Progress Reports).

Access to XUNO is important for keeping in contact with the school and for the purposes of monitoring your child’s progress. If you require assistance with anything regarding XUNO or if you have not yet established a XUNO account, please contact the front office for assistance.

For the first time we have used Xuno for Parent-Teacher Interview bookings. We thank all parents who gave this a try and hope you found it easy to use. If you experienced any problems with this, please again let the front office know. We welcome your feedback to make any necessary improvements for next time.

Edenhope College will also be launching an official Facebook page next Term. The current Edenhope College Parents Corner will become the Parent & Friends Group Page.  An official College page is required to adhere to strict Department of Education guidelines. Watch this space!

Breakfast Club

Edenhope College would like to thank the Edenhope Hospital, in particularly Shirley Schmidt and Andrew Saunders for kindly donating bread that will be used for toast at the Breakfast Club program beginning in Term 4. This initiative will be greatly appreciated by students, and demonstrates the wonderful support of the wider community at Edenhope College.

Thank you to the Edenhope Uniting Church who recently donated $500 towards the Breakfast Club program.

Thank you also to FOODBANK Victoria, for their ongoing support in providing our school with the breakfast options.

Thank you to the staff and students who volunteer and serve students their breakfast each week.

Please encourage your child/ren to visit the Breakfast Club at Edenhope College to ensure a great start to their day. Breakfast options include cereal, toast with honey or Vegemite, SPC Two Fruits, fresh apples and milo.

Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day!

If you have any questions regarding the Breakfast Club please contact Annabel Hawkins at Edenhope College.

Lunchtime Activities

Over the last term students have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of lunchtime activities including singing, sewing, drawing and dancing.

Thank you to the following teachers for their support of these activities Miss Tiddy, Mrs Rainsford, Mrs Hausler and Mrs Neall. Thank you also to Sarah Kennedy (Year 10) for assisting with the singing club.
