Student Wellbeing

Wellbeing Groups

Well-being groups remain an important feature in our school week. Students get the opportunity to try new experiences and work with different pupils across all year levels. This rotation has included cooking, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Mother's Day portraits, and terrarium building.

Lemonade scones with Mr. Brophy and Mr. Cirillo have been a very popular activity during Wellbeing Groups. The children have been very excited to once again be part of the cooking process from start to finish and thoroughly enjoyed the spoils of their hard work.

At the bottom of the page, you will find a lemonade scone recipe that you may enjoy making with your child.

As many of you may know our beloved Winston sadly passed away earlier this year. As part of this Term's Wellbeing rotation, students were given the opportunity to contribute to a living memorial for Winston. Miss Wills helped the children create a beautiful terrarium that lives in the foyer. Students took great care and pride in executing Miss Wills's vision. Please pop in and have a look when you have a chance.

Lemonade Scones Recipe

300g (2 cups) self-raising flour, sifted

55g (1/4 cup) caster sugar

125ml (1/2 cup) thick cream

125ml (1/2 cup) lemonade

40ml (2 tablespoons) milk

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 220C. Lightly grease a baking tray.

Step 2

Place the flour, sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a large bowl. Add the cream and lemonade and mix to form a soft dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured workbench and knead lightly until combined. Press the dough with your hands to a thickness of about 2cm. Use a 6cm round cutter to cut out 8 scones, place on a baking tray and brush the tops with some milk. Re-roll scraps to make a few extra scones. Bake for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned.
