Reading Goals and Religion
SLC has just started a book competition. If they read 275 books as a class by the end of the year they will receive a surprise. For each book SLC reads, the reader must fill out a book application and submit it for approval. This is to ensure the book is challenging enough for them and to prove they have actually read it. In just under two weeks SLC has already read 19 books and has 10 more submissions to be approved. The student who reads the most books in the competition will also receive a special reward. Please encourage your child to continue to read each day so that the students not only reach their goal but surpass it!
SLC has currently been studying “Our Faith Mission” as individuals and in our faith community as well as how we are called to serve. We have recently discussed what it means to be spirit-filled people and crafted a range of ideas to guide us to be positive role models for the younger children in our faith community. We are diving deeper by reflecting on scripture and what the Bible says spirit-filled people look like and how they act. By spreading the Fruits of the Holy Spirit in everything we do, we are showing the younger students how to start their own faith journey and what it means to be a follower of God.
SLC also took great enjoyment in the AFL Clinic days and are all looking forward to the return of Interschool Sports. This term students will participate in either Soccer or Netball on Friday afternoons. You are welcome to come along to support the children in their sporting endeavours. Please refer to CareMonkey (Operoo) for our schedule.
