Student Sustainability Leadership Summit
This year our school applied to participate in the Boroondara Student Sustainability Leadership Summit and our application was successful. The summit helps to empower emerging leaders in Years 5 and 6 to develop and deliver an environmental ‘call to action’ project at school.
The Summit will be hosted by Council’s Environmental Sustainability team and will be delivered by Earthwatch Australia using theirKids Teaching Kids (KTK) peer teaching model.
The students will gain the skills and confidence to plan and complete their own environmental sustainability initiatives back at school. Through a post-summit presentation event, students will have the opportunity to celebrate and share their projects and learn from their peers.
The students participating in this year's summit include our Greenforce Leaders and some of our other SLC students who expressed interest in the area of sustainability. Our team will present at the summit on 7th June. The students will have an opportunity to showcase their project to our school before the summit which we can't wait to see. Further details will be published closer to the time.
