Years One/Two News

Shapes Everywhere!

Last week, the One / Two students explored the features of two-dimensional shapes. This includes describing them (for example, by the number and length of their sides), sorting them and, of course, naming the shapes.

This week, they have been exploring three-dimensional shapes including spheres, cones, cylinders, cubes, pyramids and prisms. They have discovered that the "faces" (sides) of 3D objects are actually 2D shapes! You can support your child's learning at home by helping them to discover the three-dimensional shapes that are in your home.
