World Oceans Day

Week 8 was busy for the Climate Canons. Celebrating World Oceans Day on Tuesday, 8 June with a homeroom quiz (won by Mrs Frazier’s ultra-competitive M3 and Ms Hicks and Mr Aquino’s K3 homerooms), students discovered some interesting facts about our oceans. A display of the weird and wonderful life in our oceans and information about how to better protect our oceans was on display all day and students were treated with a viewing of Finding Dory at lunchtime. 

On Friday 11 June, we celebrated World Environment Day. The official day is the 5th of June, however with St Norbert Day and WA Day public holiday, the Climate Canons picked the 11th to offer a display of all things beautiful in our world. The Climate Canons ran a World Environment Day Photography Competition, and displayed entries for the College community to see. Congratulations to the following students who were prize winners:

Prizes will be awarded to students at our next College assembly on Friday 2 July. Thank you to everyone who entered, it was fantastic to see so much talent.

 

Don’t forget that you can drop off your glass, plastic and aluminium to Containers for Change and donate your earnings to the Climate Canons and the College.
