Year 9 City School

On the 28th October our class went to City School for three days. We prepared a hypothesis and created surveys so the public could answer. We

then used this information to confirm if our hypothesis was truthful or false.  We also interviewed an expert to take our investigation further and get more results. Our class attended workshops including Syn FM and The Big Issue. Overall the three days were not only hard working but also very rewarding as we have greater knowledge of the city and our hypothesis. Everybody had a great time and it was a memorable experience for all.

An Amazing Race

On Wednesday 21 October three Year 9 food technology classes joined forces to complete an amazing journey through Preston market. Working in small groups students went on a self guided tour through the market place gathering information and insight into foods of the world, exploring how they are produced and sold to consumers locally. The excursion was enjoyed by all and many students sampled some tasty local cuisine while they completed their work. The excursion is designed to prepare students for the banquet they will produce in class as part of their coursework.
