Inews Update 3

All those years ago Yr 7-2010
Remember when? These photos show our departing Year 12s starting school in 2010.
Farewell International students
The annual international student farewell dinner was held at a Chinese restaurant in Kew on Tuesday 20 Oct. The event was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all students and staff who attended.
In their speeches, Ms Morris, Ms Hill, Ms Wang and Mr Gemmola celebrated our year 12 International Students’ time with the school and congratulated them for their academic achievement and personal growth during their VCE years at NHS. Many teachers spoke with the students at the party wishing them well for their VCE exams and for their chosen future.
The international students also expressed heartfelt appreciation to the school and their teachers for creating such caring and supportive study experiences for them. They can certainly call Northcote High School “home” when they are truly far away from home. The speeches from international students Yonglin, Xi, Dat, Peter and Fanyi were indeed touching and full of humour and laughter.International Student Office
Farewell Yr 12
The final week of classes saw all Year 12 students working hard and polishing up their revision strategies while looking forward to their last classes. Impromptu soccer games, Zumba classes and many photos marked the last day of classes beautifully. The afternoon was punctuated with a high-energy student led assembly in which songs were sung, music was played and speeches were made with excellent feeling and heart.
The exams started in earnest on Wednesday 28 October with English and EAL taking place in the morning. As expected, students arrived with a mixture of excitement and apprehension but, in leaving the exam, they were happy and content that they had done everything they could. We are so grateful for the efforts of the students and teachers to put the Class of 2015 in the best possible position.
We wish them luck for the remainder of the exam period and look forward to celebrating with students at their Year 12 Formal at the end of November.

Our class harvested the 3 vegetable patches we made on Friday the 30 October. We managed to grow over 250 plants of silverbeet, spinach, beetroot, parsley and spring onion. These were all donated to FareShare, an organisation in Abbotsford who cook for those in need.
