Music Update 

Write It Rock It launch

On  November 9 NHS are having a CD Launch which will be a concert in the School hall starting at 7pm.  Students will be performing their songs which have been written as apart of the Write it, Rock it and Record it project and the CD will be released to the public at the low low price of $10.  All the money raised goes back into the WRR project to pay for studio time and the presenters.

The CD has come up brilliantly and sounds amazing (perfect Xmas stocking filler). CD's will be available on the night but if you are unable to attend they will be for sale from the front office.

DET Early Music Awards

On the 28th October, Callum, Theo, Josh and I performed light background music for the DET Early Years Awards ceremony. Fuelled by copious plates of egg sandwiches, we played for an hour and a half, entertaining the guests with our “upbeat, quiet, contemporary, non-classical jazz”. It was a very unique performance venue at the National Gallery of Victoria in the Great Hall. The gig experience, numerous photo opportunities and publicity made the event an exciting opportunity for our ensemble.

InterBand Tour

In the last week of October, the Intermediate Concert Band went on a tour to Phillip Island. This group of musicians performed at primary schools, an aged care facility and at the penguin parade. In between performances, students participated in lazer tag, beach walks, as well as visits to A Maze and Things, the Chocolate Factory and Seal Rock.
