Art & Design at NHS

Art Show opens 3 Dec 6pm
It's approaching that time of year again where we celebrate the Art and Design achievements of Northcote High School students for 2015. This year we plan to exhibit the work of the year 7-10 students in the main hall together with the fashion show. The work of senior students will be displayed in the adjoining VCE centre. There will be music, guest speakers, achievement awards, food and beverages. You are all encouraged to attend this special night in the NHS Art and Design calendar and support the fabulous artwork of our students.

Design and Technology Week
NHS recently held it's inaugural Design and Technology Week and it was a great success! Among the many activities throughout the week were daily makerspaces that were packed every lunchtime, and a fun and informative student and parent evening with Engineers Without Borders and representatives from three local universities.
Design and Technology lessons were also delivered throughout the school in other subjects including Science, Maths, English and Humanities!

Senior Media Films
The Senior Media film night, run entirely by the media students of Year 11, was a major success. We had a fantastic turnout and raised approximately $1,500 for the media department. We are incredibly excited about the potential equipment we can now purchase to aid in the development of our films for next year. The film that I directed, one of those listed below, was created by Jesse Viney, Freya Guthrie, Tom Hamilton Gilligan, and Angus Cameron. It follows the life of a teenage boy with a hyper active, childish imagination, the barriers that he creates and the quirky events of his day to day life. It was the winner of Best Picture at the media evening. I Hope you enjoy it!

Parents please note: the approximate rating of these films would be PG or M, as several deal with the supernatural or adult themes and on occasion use coarse language.
