Year 7 Reading Challenge

Our Year 7s are smashing reading records as they continue to conquer books for our Year 7 Reading Challenge. The Reading Challenge is in its second year, and is shaping up to be bigger and more ambitious than last year. So far, the Year 7s have read over 1000 books!

Students have been logging their books since Term 2, showing themselves to be voracious readers with impressive appetites and eclectic tastes. It is fantastic to see that our students have kept up their regular reading even without their weekly library sessions.

The teacher librarian team are loving all the books that students are submitting, and getting to read their reactions to what they’re reading. It is fantastic to see that students are rising to the challenge, reading books across a whole range of genres, and maintaining their enthusiasm for reading!

The librarians can’t wait to see what they choose next. It is also wonderful to see the support from the English teacher team, who have been so encouraging (while also getting a little competitive themselves). The Challenge will conclude in the first week of Term 4 -- how many books do you think our amazing Year 7s will have read by then? We will wrap things up by awarding our top readers some super-secret prizes that will help them to keep reading into the future.
