District Cross Country

Congratulations to all 60 of our students who competed at the District Cross Country yesterday. This is a new course at Quambee Reserve with a very challenging hill, but they all did so well.

Congratulations to the following students who will be competing at Division Cross Country next Tuesday at the Yarra Glen Racecourse.

Our 9/10 Girls won their age group race overall and the 9/10 Boys came second.

Croydon Hills came 3rd out of 11 schools, what a great effort everyone.

Thanks you very much to our wonderful parents who assisted us at the Cross Country – Clare L – (Scarlett H’s mum), for assisting with going on the bus to make up the 3rd adult. Also thank you to Susie L  - (Chloe and Summer’s mum) and Mel D – Hunter’s mum.  We also had a very special assistant – Chelsea H, who is in training for Cross Country official competitions as she had a go at scoring today……..

Interschool Sport

Last week the Red Teams played a fun match against Yarra Road PS to make up for the fact that the school we were supposed to play went on Camp.  We will play that school in 2 weeks time.  The Blue Teams played their games against Dorset PS.  Well done to all the teams for their great efforts.

This week our Blue Teams will be playing Sacred Heart – another fill-in school, so this match is also for fun.  The Red Teams this week will be playing against Antonio Park.

Unfortunately, we have lost our Red Team Softball Coach, Linda Stark who had an accident and will no longer be able to assist with the girls' team for the next 3 weeks.  We are very disappointed that Linda can no longer take the team, as she was actually the most enthusiastic team member.  We wish you a quick recovery, Linda and hope you are back on your feet soon.

We are therefore fairly desperate in needing a supervising adult for this team.  If there is anyone who can volunteer to help out for the next 3 weeks with Softball (modified Fully Loaded ) on Fridays from 1.15pm  - 2.15pm, we would much appreciate it as the girls will not be able to participate without supervision. You don’t need to know the rules as the other school will umpire,  it’s about duty of care and making sure that our girls are safe and assisting them with their batting order and scoring.  If you are able to help us out please contact myself or the Office so that we can send you the information.

House Athletics

Next week's Lockdown means that our Middle and Senior House Athletics Sports Days - on Wednesday 2nd June – Middle School and Thursday 3rd June – Senior School - will have to be postponed.  I will be endeavouring to schedule both these days as soon as possible in Term 3, but this will be dependent on the availability of the Ringwood Athletics Track.  I will let parents know via Compass, once a new plan is in place.

LAST CHANCE FOR THE BOOK FAIR!

The Book fair is just about over! If you haven’t been in yet you have one more chance. The Book fair will be open in the Library this afternoon 3.00 – 4.00pm. Please be patient and remember that we are limited to 30 people at a time in the Library.  After this time the books will all be packed up and you will have missed your last opportunity. The Book Fair WILL NOT BE OPEN TOMORROW (FRIDAY).

The books that needed to be ordered earlier in the week have been emailed to the supplier and if they had them in stock they will be delivered to the school.  I will hold these in the Library Office until the students all return to school.  If there are any problems with supply I will put it in the newsletter in coming weeks or email those affected.

Thank you all for your support of the Book Fair, especially during these trying times. I am sorry that not everyone had a chance to get to the Book Fair; let’s keep our fingers crossed for next year.
