Principal's Update

Dear Parent/Carer,
Invitations have been sent out this week on Compass, asking you to make a booking for next week’s Parent /Teacher interviews. I encourage all families to take this opportunity to discuss your child’s current learning goals and progress to date. The interviews are available as either face to face or online, depending on your preference. As the interviews are time bound, we greatly appreciate your assistance in making sure interviews start and end on time. In the event that you require a longer meeting, please contact your child’s teacher to arrange an alternate time.
NAPLAN assessments commenced this week and I would like to congratulate all students on their attitude and effort. Thank you also to all staff for their coordination and accommodation of these assessments, which has enabled such as smooth implementation. The assessments will continue through to next week, with any catch up tests held during this time.
Two years ago, one of our students wrote to Netball Victoria asking if they could provide Netball lessons in Mount Beauty. Because of Billie’s letter, we are excited to announce that from Tuesday 25th May, all students will have the opportunity to participate in four Netball clinics, over four weeks.
On Friday 28th May, the Upper Hume Division Cross Country will be held at Willow Park in Wodonga. Students aged nine and above, who qualified at Tawonga in the top 10 for their age group, will have the opportunity to participate in this event. Marshalling commences at 12.00 midday, with the first event at 12.15pm.
Participation is optional and as we will not have a staff member in attendance, families are responsible for the transport and supervision of their child. Further information will be provided to qualifying students.
With the introduction to Compass, this semester we will be introducing some changes to our semester reports. In addition to being accessible online, the report will also provide additional details about your child’s progress against the curriculum. A report-writing day will be held on Monday 7th June, to enable staff to complete these reports. OSHC will be running for families who require this service. For bookings, please use the booking link on the OSHC page of this newsletter.
