''Like a mustard seed...the smallest of all the seeds on Earth, yet once it is sown it grows into the biggest shrub of them all.'
Mk 4:26-34

The Mustard Seed

The parable of the Mustard Seed during the weekend's Gospel reading, opens our eyes to the unending possibilities that God has for us. We can be mirrored by the small seed yet grow into significance to be a strong tree by the way we move forward in the face of adversity and challenge.

Like the seed, we have a desired purpose even in these challenging and contemporary times. We can even align the parable to the motto of our school's patron saint, St Therese of Lisieux: "Remember that nothing is small in the eyes of God. Do all that you do with love."

The challenge lies in how we courageously move forward by word and by action to grow and gain insight into God's ways of working in our world. How will you enact the Mustard Seed faith?
