Wominjeka Everyone

We have been having lots of conversations about washing our hands properly before we eat and making sure we eat all our vegetables.  Eating our vegetables keeps our immunity strong. You might be thinking a) this sounds bonkers b) anything to get my kids to eat vegetables is a good thing. We’ve found that children like having a responsibility, or an important “thing they can do” even if it’s making sure you eat all your carrots. Let us know if your kids seem more enthused at home. They’re certainly polishing off everything at snack time!

From the Program: Film club.

How awesome does this look! (The battle bots were friendly of course)

Meet Harry!

Harry passed his doggy test with flying colours. He pops in for a visit before school care. Harry loves cuddles.

Science Club: We were fortunate to be donated some very special rocks (sadly none of them gold). We looked at how some rocks had crystals inside them asked did they came from a volcano?

Cooking Club: Scones

This week’s cooking activity was the great Australian staple - scones! We talked about how the less you muck about with the dough, the fluffier the scone. Ok – so some scones did come out more like rocks. The feel of squishy dough was a bit too much fun for some foundies.

Important notes:

FOUNDIES

Foundies are back next Wednesday – don’t forget to change your permanent bookings! If you have booked already, existing bookings for Wednesday will continue. From next term we will not be collecting foundies from their classrooms. This is part of their learning journey to become independent people. Please support your child over the next few weeks to make this transition. Teachers will continue to receive the list of who is going to OSHC for the rest of the year and will remind students at the end of the day.

DIRECT DEBIT

Please make sure you have submitted your Direct Debit forms!

We still have some families who haven’t returned their direct debit forms. Without a direct debit form you can’t pay us. Everyone likes to get paid! Even if you make only irregular casual bookings you must submit a form.

MISSING VESTS

We still have a few missing vests and we have noticed that some children are leaving the program with the vest on. I know, the vests are so cool!

Can we please ask to return the vests as we have an unexpected increase of attendances and also to remind your children to take their vest off before going home? That would help us a lot!

Thank you.

RE-ENROLL

We still have parents/carers that have not re-enrolled their child(ren) into OSHC. Please see the instructions below, if you are unsure of anything please email us at: ohsc.brunswick.nw.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au

Enrolment and Booking:

All children need to have an updated enrolment, including current children, to do this you must re-submit your enrolment. We have still few families who are currently using the program without updating the enrolment. Please re-submit your child enrolment as per national legislation and regulation.
