FATHER'S DAY BREAKFAST AND STALL

A huge thank you to all our wonderful P & F committee members who worked tirelessly so that these activities happen.  Thank you to all the awesome volunteers who helped make the morning run smoothly.  For those who rocked up in the early hours to start prepping for brekkies and helped to set up the night before and who ordered all the necessaries and to all who donated goods to go towards the brekkie.  Thank you.  Your time and generosity is appreciated and we love that you are keeping the school community spirit alive and happy.  You all truly demonstarte our motto 'Love In Action'. - On behalf of the school community, thank you.

What a wonderful day we had on Friday, celebrating our father’s and special men in our lives. It was so nice to see all the children enjoying this special breakfast.

A very big thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, donated bacon, eggs, cereal, juice, cooked, set up, packed up, washed dishes, made cookies, made muffins, sourced donations of fruit and bread, more dishes, more set up and more dishes! A very special thank you to everyone who donated their time to make sure this event could run and run so smoothly. We couldn’t do it without your dedication and positivity.

Thank you to the parents who come in to help pick and wrap gifts from the Father's Day stall.  Some of these parents day started quite early - we are so appreciative of your continued support and assistance on and in preparation for the day.

Thank you again,

Parents and Friends committee

CAMP BRAVO

Camp Bravo was another wonderful success.  The children had a brilliant time.  Camp Bravo ran for 3 days, culminating in an evening  performance on the Friday showcasing all that they had learned in just 3 days.  The evening was fun, joyful and energetic and was enjoyed by all.  Participants should be very proud of themselves.  The children have all benefited from the expertise and experience of the all the musician mentors.  All the children said it was so much fun.  We look forward to their hopefully being another Camp Bravo in 2020.  Congratulations to Elly Polleti and the Camp Bravo team on another successful event.

MICAHEL'S SUPA IGA BIG CHEQUE PRESENTATION

Today Mrs Gatehouse, Angeline Tomy and Will Berry represented St Laurence's at the Michael's Supa IGA Big Cheque Presentation ceremony, held at the RSL meeting rooms in Leongatha.  Angeline and Will accepted a very generous cheque for $2030 from all the reward point donations over the past year.  We thank Michael's Supa IGA for continuing  this very generous community rewards fundraising program.

It is super easy to be involved in donating points to the school.  If you have a tag already, just let the staff know that you wish to donate points or some of your points to the school.  Or if you have not got a tag yet, see the helpful staff and they can fix you up with one.  No effort required other than applying,  you swipe your tag at check out.  You can nominate that your points come directly to us when applying or you can donate some of your points to the school at any time.

MEALS ON WHEELS

As part of our Community Services Program the Grade 6 students assist with the delivery of Meals on Wheels (with volunteer parents) .  Meals on Wheels is a wonderful MECWACARE based program which aids those who need assistance in their homes with meals.

Volunteers:  We will need volunteers to participate in this program.  Ideally we would like to have enough volunteers that you would only have to go for one, one hour session once a term or if we get enough, one session a year. You would be needed from approx 11:30am - 12:30pm and would take two grade 6 children to assist you.  You do not have to be a grade 6 parent to help out.  You will need to hold a current WWCC or have applied for one.

For more information, or to put your name forward giving days that are suited to your schedule, please call the office or Ellen our MOW's co-ordinator on 0413 338 275, we'd love to hear from you.
