Northern Star Chess: e-Learning Programs for Schools and for Individuals
Northern Star Chess has been providing Chess learning and coaching programs in schools for more than 15 years. We pride ourselves on being adaptable to the needs of students and schools.
In light of the current circumstances, we have recently moved our programs online and now offer a fully secure coaching and playing experience for students either as part of a school group or as an individual joining one of our scheduled classes.
We hope you will consider giving your students the option to learn and play chess online.

NSC Online School Chess Programs
Northern Star Chess is now offering a suite of safe and secure online programs that provides chess coaching and playing for school groups, whether students are connected at school or at home.
Our e-learning programs are designed to mimic our traditional chess programs, with the coach delivering a chess lesson over a video conferencing session, followed by online chess games by means of managed accounts for students which are child-safe.
We can organise for the coach to conduct the lessons by joining a school-organised meeting, using a school preferred video conference software. Or we have a highly controlled and fully accountable configuration with Zoom meeting that we can host.
All our staff have a current Working With Children check, it is a requirement to be working with Northern Star Chess. This applies whether they are attending programs at schools or conducting programs online.

NSC Online Scheduled Classes for Individuals
Apart from Northern Star Chess school programs, we also have scheduled online classes, conducted outside of school hours, that students can join as individuals. They simply look at the list of available classes, decide on their level and then choose one of the courses. Currently, we are offering 8 week courses for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced, with the earliest beginning Sunday 26th April. Further courses will be added, depending on interest.
Similar to our school programs, these provide a cost effective way for students to learn and develop their chess skills in a safe, secure online environment.
