Selamat siang dan selamat datang kembali!

It has been an absolute delight in seeing all of our wonderful students in the classroom again! I am really impressed how mature and thoughtful all our students from Foundation to grade 6 have been when discussing classroom expectations and how we show Kehormatan or Respect in the classroom. We've had lots of fun games and activities in finding some new objects and new displays in our new Indonesian classroom! This term, students in Foundation will begin exploring what learning a language means and start by learning greetings. "Selamat pagi" means Good morning! Students in 1/2 will be learning about food, while the Senior school learns how to ask and answer questions about themselves!

Our Specialist Team this term is (as pictured) Emily Sutherland (Performing Arts), Bu Marissa Mundy (Indonesian and Kitchen/Garden), Treesje Butterworth (PE) and Gabby Uhlendorf (Visual Art). We are all so excited for a brilliant year!

Physical Education Pupil of the Week

Thank you Edith for displaying outstanding leadership during your PE lesson. You modelled a positive and enthusiastic attitude to all set tasks, as well as celebrating other class members achievements. Awesome Work!

Indonesian Pupil of the Week

Senior:  Chris Y (5/6SB)

Hebat, Chris! You showed incredible insight, maturity and thoughtfulness during our class discussion on the meaning of kehormatan (respect) and how to demonstrate it. You brought up a variety of different ways to be respectful within the classroom and to your classmates, terima kasih banyak!

Junior: Olivia Y (1/2G)

Terima kasih for a brilliant first week back to Indonesian, Olivia! You showed a sense of curiosity when playing our language games and behaved in a mature and responsible manner when discussion how to show kehormatan (respect). Hebat!

Visual Arts Pupil of the Week

Senior: Auritro K (5/6SB)

It was amazing to see you draw your bird with such confidence, focus and excellent time management. You drew your bird portrait with such a wonderful stance - very unique and skilful. Thank you for showing creativity and appreciation of beauty. It's so lovely to see you engaged and productive.

How wonderful to see you display judgement and leadership. The way you organized your workspace and the confident, calm, independent judgements you made show leadership qualities that enrich our learning community. You are a delight to teach.
