Summer Reading
Students should keep reading each day over the school holidays to set themselves up for a great start to the new school year. It will keep their brains active, develop overall reading skills and continue their love of reading. To help families keep their reading momentum rolling over the holidays, we are sending home a Summer Reading Challenge. This will come home with your child on Tuesday. It contains tasks to keep your child engaged over the break. We will be collecting these in the first week back at school so that Mr Noel can present participation certificates.

Supporting Transition to High School
Transitioning to High School can be a daunting time for both children and parents.
Headspace National in partnership with the Department of Education and Training Victoria, are hosting a webinar for parents and carers with young people who are transitioning from primary to secondary school. This webinar is for adults.

2021 Parent Payment Arrangements
The 2021 School Fees are now available to pay via Compass Course Confirmation and Payments. Our Parent Parent Arrangements are available on the school website (https://southmelbourneps.vic.edu.au/) along with the DET's Policy.
Payments can be made in full or via the following set instalment dates: 1st December 2020, 1st of January 2021, 1st of February 2021 and 1st of March 2021. If you require an alternative payment plan, please contact our Business Manager, Tess, on 03 9935 9399 or tess.duerden@southmelbourneps.vic.edu.au. CentrePay is also available. If you believe you are eligible for Camps, Sports and Excursion Funding, please contact Tess prior to making your payment. We thank you for your continued support and voluntary payments and donations.
Camps, Sports & Excursion (CSEF) Application Form
The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) provides payments for eligible students to attend activities like:
- school camps or trips
- swimming and school-organised sport programs
- outdoor education programs
- excursions and incursions.
Families who hold a valid concession card or temporary foster parents are eligible to apply. Applications can be submitted over Term 1 and 2. More information on the eligibility criteria can be found here:

SMPS Cookbooks have arrived!
The SMPS Cookbooks will be distributed to your child and placed in their school bag on Monday afternoon. Please keep an eye out! We hope you enjoy the yummy recipes and please share your cooking experiences with us!
End of Year Raffle
