WHAT'S HAPPENING

Parent Teacher Interviews, Sentral for Parents app and Face Masks

PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS

WED 10TH FEBRUARY

Students from Grade 1-6 will attend on this day and take part in the famous East Survivor while our teachers and parents have their interviews.

Interviews are able to be booked via the Sentral for Parents app. If you have not registered for this yet there are instructions below or feel free to contact Mel at the office.

SENTRAL for PARENTS

We have our Sentral Parents Portal up and running. This is our new communications system that will take over from Flexibuzz.

All family keys have now been emailed out to our families.  If you have not received one, or you think you need to update your email address, please contact Mel (email address below).

Once you have completed the process that is explained in the email, we ask that you download the Sentral for Parents App  - available in the Apple Store and Google Play. When you first open the app you will be prompted to use the same email address and password that you used to register on the website, and then you will need to enter your parent key that was contained in the first email.

This app will enable you to read our news feed and reminders, advise us if your child is going to be absent and respond to any absence notifications that we send out to you.

If you have not received our email or need to update your email address please contact Mel at the office via email - melanie.price@education.vic.gov.au

PARENTS ONSITE, QR CODE SYSTEM & FACE MASKS

We have great news, parents are permitted to be back onsite!

Naturally this is provided we maintain strict social distancing of 1.5m between adults and keep good records of any staff, visitors, and parents, who are onsite. Density limits continue for indoor areas and these will be displayed at classroom entrances.

Face masks are now mandatory in indoor setting across Victoria, including schools. We ask that you ensure you are wearing a mask if you enter the school with your child.

We still have the requirement that families do not congregate together at the beginning or end of the day, so please help us with this.

To support these strict requirements, we have introduced a very simple QR code system (similar to those you would already be familiar with when checking in to venues and shops). This is required each day you come into any of the school buildings.

QR codes and density limits will be displayed at reception, and at the entrances to all classrooms and buildings. Simply open your phone’s camera and focus on the code to begin the sign in process. You’ll only need to enter your details once (name and phone number) as the app will remember you for next time. For those that are unable to use their phone to sign in, a manual sign in form will be available.

Camps Sports and Excursion Fund applications

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seeker and refugee families.

Payment amounts this year are $125 for eligible primary school students and $225 for eligible secondary school students [remove primary/secondary as necessary]. Payments are made direct to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions and sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.

If you would like to apply for the first time, please contact the school office on 54822588 and ask for an application form.

You can also download the form, and find out more about the program and eligibility, on the Department of Education and Training’s Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund web page.
