PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Welcome Back to Echuca East Primary School everyone!

I’m sure that I am not just speaking for myself when I say, parents, students and staff are glad to be back at school after last year's unpredictable events. It has been great to see our parents back in the classrooms this week to celebrate the start of a new school year. Yet, it seems we are not quite free of the COVID-19 restrictions or outbreaks as the wearing of masks indoors (all public places – including schools) has returned as of yesterday.

So please parents, if you wish to come onsite, make sure you are wearing your mask, make sure you sanitise upon entry and that you sign in. On the doors, you will find a QR Code. Just scan this code with your camera on your phone, enter your name and phone number and submit. It is that easy! If you are unable to scan the QR Code, then please fill in the paper register which is situated at the front office and each classroom. It is important that we follow these safety measures every time you are on the school site. All of our safety is paramount!

I would like to welcome our families back to Echuca East, both old and new and a special warm welcome to our littlest Easties, our Prep students who started with us last Friday.

It has been great to see how well they have settled into their classroom routines. I bet both the preps and their teachers are looking forward to this weekend for a big rest!

Also, a special welcome back to our amazing staff who have spent much of their holidays coming into school to prepare for the year ahead. Your dedication, enthusiasm and commitment is appreciated and the classrooms are looking amazing! There are a few staff changes this year with Mrs Strachan being on Long Service Leave and as I attempt to fill her shoes, we wish her a wonderful break. Ben Hawthorn has returned to Echuca East to take up the short term Acting Assistant Principal position. It is great to see Beck Turner back in level 3 this year too. Let’s not forget our wonderful 5 new Trainees that are supporting our students throughout the school. If you see any of our new faces around the school, please give them a warm Eastie welcome! Again, welcome back everyone to another great year!
