Alcoa Apprenticeships

Alcoa will be launching our 2023 Apprenticeship Program recruitment campaign on Friday 17 June 2022, aimed at providing secondary students, who have completed a minimum of year 10, an opportunity to develop a diverse range of skills through our four-year structured practical and theoretical program that will lead to a nationally recognised trade certificate.

There will be 36 positions available across our WA Bauxite Mining and Alumina Refining operations that will commence early January 2023 across the following trade categories:

Mechanical Fitter
Fabricator / Welder
Heavy Duty Plant Mechanic
Industrial Electrical Instrumentation Technician
Light Vehicle Mechanic

The Apprenticeship program is aimed at delivering first-class training including hands on experience that take place in a dynamic, heavy duty environment, providing apprentices a competitive edge in the job market.

Alcoa will welcome applications for the 2023 Apprenticeship Program from Friday 17 June 2022 until Tuesday 19 July 2022.

Please note for application to be considered it is compulsory the applicants to include an electronic scan of their most recent school report (including teacher comments).

Iluka - Heavy Duty Fabrication Apprenticeship

Iluka Resources are looking to employ 2 x Heavy Duty Fabrication Apprentices (used to be called Boiler Maker). A Year 12 student would be their first choice, with a view to sign the student up this year to commence next year.

Future Pathways Expo SIDE

The School of Isolated and Distance Education's school network has extended an invitation to our community to attend their online Future Pathway Expos on June 15th, 22nd and 29th from 3.30-5pm. Students will only be able to access and join the session from 4.00pm.

The second online expo on June 22nd will have presentations from:

3.30-4.00pm	Police Force recruiting and the Aboriginal Cadet program
4.00-4.15pm	Central Regional TAFE
4.15-4.35pm	Construction Training Fund- the Construction Industry
4.35-4.55pm	Brick and Block Careers - employment opportunities in brick and blocklaying

Topics covered will include entry requirements and pathways. Participants can select the presentation/s they are most interested in.
