Vanessa Ingram, Year 7 Leader

On Thursday 26 May, we took our first Australia Football League Women's team to Aldinga Payinthi College to compete in the 7-9 Knockout Competition. This dedicated group took to the field to showcase a term's worth of training and their efforts certainly paid off.

After a tough first match against Wirreanda Secondary, 4.2 v 2.0, the girls changed tactics, took on the advice of the coaches and subsequently left the next two schools scoreless, leaving us to finish in second place. Overall, Best on Ground after the three matches were: Tabby, Carmen, Miller, Zeeva, Angela and Teagan, however, every player more importantly supported their fellow teammates and demonstrated our school value of respect.

It was wonderful to have three Year 11 students, Sasha Nancarrow, Teagan Palamountain and Brooke Watson, mentor our team throughout the games. Thanks to teachers Leigh Rayner, Briony Bryant and Matt Peters for also supporting our team and making this happen.
