A short week this week thanks to the long weekend.

Most students came back refreshed and ready to go for the push to the end of term.

Just a little timely reminder that all aerosol cans are prohibited in the Residential setting. These can cause breathing issues for some students, if and when they are used incorrectly.  This isn’t new to the College, but it sometimes seems to be forgotten and they find their way back into the Residence. Please ensure that we use stick deodorants or spray pack style, as it is the aerosol deodorant that seems to be the biggest issue.

Applications for leave through the Reach Boarding system need to be submitted in a timely fashion.  Many students are applying for leave on the day of the requested leave. This is outside our policy and does not have to be approved. It creates issues with transport requirements and numbers of students for sporting teams etc.  Please work with us on this issue, as we are trying to prepare the students for the future with a bit of forward thinking and planning. It also clearly assists staff in planning and caring for the students' needs.

For Wednesday evening sport this week we chose ran Basketball. Mr Jones reports that there were a lot of students participating and a lot of fun was had during the game, with a lot of support from the spectators.

In the town Netball competition, the girls once again had a win of 22-17 in a close scoring game. The girls are starting to really gel with each other and are playing some really good team netball. Well done.

This coming weekend has lots on for the boarders.

Saturday they are off to Perth to watch the Dockers take on Hawthorn in the AFL at Optus oval. They are going via Mandurah on the way up and having lunch on the foreshore before heading to the footy. We have been gifted some tickets by the Fremantle Football Club which is very much appreciated and we have a list of 22 students who are eagerly awaiting the event. Thanks ever so much to the Fremantle Football Club for their generosity.

On Sunday we will continue our busy weekend with a trip to Mandurah for the students who are undertaking their Skippers ticket.  Mr Jones will once again head up for the excursion to Mandurah, having a very good track record of success in this field.

With the weather changing, students are reminded to ensure that they have their wet weather gear here onsite.  Please also ensure that you have enough warm jumpers etc. especially for farm and trades, but also for class.  These all need to be part of College uniform and in a neat and tidy condition.
