Principals' Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Week 8!  We hope you managed to stay warm and enjoy the long weekend break with family and friends.  With the weather now very cold, please ensure your child wears enough clothes to keep warm. While some children do not seem too bothered by the cold weather, it is important that they wear their school jumpers/jackets to avoid the chill as much as possible.

Semester 1 Reports and Three Way Learning Conferences

As we head towards the end of the term, our teachers are working hard to finalise assessments and write Semester 1 reports. These reports will be sent home electronically via Compass parent email this Friday, 17th June. Our three way Student/Parent/Teacher Learning Conferences will be held in Weeks 9 and 10. Please don't forget to contact the school to book your appointment. It’s a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress over the first half of the year.

Many thanks to our class teachers who always work tirelessly, but paricularly at this time of the year when preparing reports and meeting with all parents/carers. They are looking forward to meeting with you and your child at the upcoming meetings to share the learning achievements so far this year.

First Eucharist

Congratulations and blessings to our Year 3 students who received the sacrament of Eucharist (communion) for the first time on Sunday 5th June.  It was a very special celebration for the children, their families and the parish community.  Special thanks to Mrs Bearman (REC), Mrs Wallace and Mrs Lockwood for preparing the students, and to Fr Ross for celebrating the beautiful mass for us.

Kindergarten Interviews 2023

Over the past three weeks it has been a pleasure to meet and have enrolment meetings with our Kindergarten 2023 families. It really makes us think, where has the year gone!  There has been a good mix of siblings from our existing families as well as many brand new families ready to join our St Joseph’s community next year!

We know that even though we are not even at the end of Term 2, the new year will roll around before we know it and our new little friends will be all dressed up in their uniforms ready for big school!

We may be biased, but we love showing off all the wonderful things happening at St Joseph’s as we meet our new families, and what really makes us great is all of you, our supportive school community!

Please keep these families in your prayers as they begin to prepare their precious little ones for life at school which begins with our Transition Program in Terms 3 and 4. A big adjustment for them and an even bigger adjustment for parents and carers!

May God bless you and your family,

Maree Holland & Greg O'Toole
