COLLEGE  INFORMATION

OPEN EVENING - PROSPECTIVE PARENTS

5 MAY 6.30PM - 8PM

This is an opportunity for students and their families to find out information about the college prior to enrolling them into MESC. We run this evening in a Q&A format where audience members can ask any question and receive an authentic response from one of the panel members. Due to current COVID context, we ask that only one student and 2 adults attend. We highly encourage all future families to attend one of our tours to see the college running in real time. To book a tour, please call 97876288.

RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS

Respectful Relationships Lead School

What does this mean?

The Royal Commission into family violence recommended that a mandate be introduced into every government school in Victoria from Prep to Year 12 in delivering respectful relationships education.

Respectful Relationships Education is the holistic approach to school-based, primary prevention of gender-based violence.

It uses the education system as a catalyst for generational and cultural change by engaging schools, as both education institution and workplaces to comprehensively address the drivers of gender-based violence and create a future free from violence.

The main premise is that rigid gender stereotypes can be harmful and gender equity is good for everyone.

The 8 topics covered in the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships Curriculum (RRRR) are:

  1. Emotional literacy
  2. Personal strengths
  3. Positive coping
  4. Problem solving
  5. Stress management
  6. Help seeking
  7. Gender and Identity
  8. Positive gender relations

At MESC the respectful relationships curriculum will be covered during Health, P.E. and Connect. As a RRRR lead school, MESC is committed to embedding this curriculum and leading and supporting partner schools in their RRRR implementation.

If you have any questions regarding this curriculum, please contact
