VET Small Business

On Monday 28 March the Year 12 VET Small Business class had the opportunity to have a Day in the Office experience kindly hosted by Workspace 365 at 485 La Trobe Street in the CBD. Students were given the opportunity to experience how offices run, workplace manners and workwear, as well as the various tasks and operations that different businesses undertake. Students were able to plan the VET EVENT DAY using the available resources and have a real life experience of what it means to work in an office environment, alongside companies such as Coles Head Office, Slater & Gordon, Headspace and PTV. 

We also had the great opportunity to network and form working relationships with other businesses working on our floor, as well as the ground floor, such as the lobby Cafe. The intention of the day was to build working relationships, facilitate networking and develop real life skills beyond the classroom. The day was a success and the community at 485 La Trobe were excited to have a school for the first time run such an experience and develop working relationships. 

We look forward to working with 485 La Trobe St again to keep developing community connections and opportunities that benefit our learners for the future.
