Dollars and Sense

As Part of Dollars and Sense students learn about the Sharemarket, they can put into practice what they are learning by playing the Sharemarket game. Students receive a virtual $50,000 they can invest over a 10-week period, in over 200 companies listed on the ASX. The prices students buy and sell at are the same prices as they would get in the live market so this is as close to real life share trading as you can get.

As a result of playing the game students:

  • Develop their knowledge of the sharemarket
  • Learn how to research companies
  • Discover the importance of wise investment decisions
  • Gain a greater knowledge of economic and world events

Students have been playing the ASX sharemarket game for a couple of weeks now and riding the ever-changing economic landscape.

Well done to James, Andy and Zetao who are leading the school making some sound decisions when it comes to purchasing shares and then selling them.

Virtual Dig

Year 7’s had a fun time performing the duties of an archaeologist by uncovering evidence on a virtual dig site. Finding, describing & evaluating sources from ancient Greece to develop their knowledge on how the ancient Athenians lived.
