Year 2 ANZAC Diary Reflections

Last week we read the picture story book, ‘ANZAC Biscuits’. This story was about a little girl, Rachel, making ANZAC biscuits for her dad, with her mum. At different times throughout the story it crosses over to what her Dad has experienced as a soldier.

After lots of discussion, the Year 2s were asked to write a diary entry written by either Rachel or the soldier (her Dad).  They all responded very well. Here are some of them!

PRAYER

ANZAC DAY PRAYER

God of love and liberty, we bring our thanks this day for the peace and security we enjoy, which was won for us through the courage and devotion of those who gave their lives in time of war. We pray that their labour and sacrifice may not be in vain, but that their spirit may live on in us and in generations to come.

AMEN

Lest we forget.
