La Belle Epoque

As part of French cultural enrichment, Ms Hermence’s year 8 French classes undertook a research project on the theme of Paris during La Belle Epoque. This period, which spans from late 1800 to early 1900, was one of great creativity and innovation in the artistic community that gathered in Paris.  Students also took part in a guided tour at the National Gallery of Victoria’s collection of French art from that period. In particular, they looked at how change in society is reflected in the art of the period.
