Unit of Work

For our Unit of Work this term we will be investigating, ‘We are a Community of Learners’. We will begin the unit discussing what makes a community of learners and incorporating our school aspirations as much as possible into this learning. Our school aspirations are; collaboration, community, commitment and courage. We will be providing student with lots of cooperative play tasks in order to establish our classroom communities and establish friendships.

We also have an Excursion planned in March to go to Velisha Farms Werribee where students will be able to gain an understanding of where our food comes from and the process it goes through from farm to plate.

In addition, The Year one students will be continuing their partnership with the Royal Botanical Garden through a number of excursions and incursions during the school year. We have 4 planned excursions for Term One with more details to come soon. This partnership will support students to form deeper connections with the natural world around them, as well as with each other. Students will also be given the opportunity to create a school garden legacy project during the year with the support of the Royal Botanical Gardens.

And of course, we have our Know Yourself, Show Yourself, Grow Yourself Mental Health Festival which will conclude an exciting week focusing on our Wellbeing.
