Mathematics:

Students will continue to build on their knowledge of Number and Place Value. These Essential Learnings are ongoing during the whole year and not just Term One.

This term it is expected that students will:

Grade One 

Place Value 

• Recognise, model, read, write, order and count numbers to at least 100. 
• Skip count by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s starting from zero. 

Data

• Choose simple questions and gather responses.
• Represent data with objects and drawings where one object or drawing represents one data value. Describe the displays.

Grade Two

Place Value 

• Recognise, model, represent and order numbers to at least 1000. 
• Investigating number patterns from non-zero starting points. 

Data

• Identify a question of interest based on one categorical variable. gather data relevant to the question.
• Collect, check and classify data.
• Create displays of data using lists, table and picture graphs and interpret them.
