Celebrating the 200 Years of Greek Independence (1821-2021)

“Evzones – The Guards of the Unknown”

The Organisational Committee for the Greek National Day supported by H. E. President of the Hellenic Republic, Ms. Katerina Sakelaropoulou, invited our school to a photo exhibition directly from Greece, titled “Evzones – The Guards of the Unknown”. 

The exhibition was created by the official photographer of the Presidential Guard, Ms. Dimitra Hatziadam, who between 2013 and 2016 spent long hours taking behind-then-scenes pictures of the otherwise multi-photographed evzones. The outcome of these shots was a travelling photo exhibition that took place in Melbourne in March 2021, and was a highlight of the festivities marking 200 years since the Greek independence. 

The 2021 Victorian Council congratulated and thanked us for taking the time to submit an event for the 2021 Victorian Program.
