Dom Poppa - Assistant Principal

  1. How long have you been with Sacred Heart? Hi I’m Dom and I’ve been at Sacred Heart for three years now and I have loved every minute of my work here. It’s a great place to be with fantastic families, great staff and the most beautiful children ‘this side of the black stump!’
  2. What is your favourite thing about your job? Each day brings a new challenge, an exciting adventure but the biggest joy about my job is seeing the smiling happy faces of our children as they wonder, play and learn. PLAY – never under estimate the value of play and the learning that comes with it.
  3. Any kids/pets? My wife Katrina is a nurse and a mad Tigers fan – the mighty tigers spirit runs through her blood to the point that our two boys, Andy and Matt, have followed in her foot steps. But I will never forgo the Mighty BLUES! We have two dogs, Finn a West Highland Terrier and Doug a Border Collie, and Mel the cat. Mel was a stray that some how came home with me and has never left.
  4. What are your hobbies? To pass the time I love to cook, I enjoy being in the garden and seeing things grow, walking the dogs and taking them swimming is also a fave. Michael Robotham is a writer that seems to draw me in and I have read all of his novels – I cannot wait until he releases his next book.
  5. Favourite holiday destination? Travel is high on my fun things to do and I enjoy exploring new places, getting lost in the busyness of an unknown city and finding amazing sites and places that you would not find on the regular tourist map.

Debbie Turvey - Learning Diversity and Religious Education Leader

  3. Any kids/pets? I have two toy poodles - Hepsy and Rosy.
  4. What are your hobbies? Gardening, reading and completing a 1000 piece jigsaws!
  5. Favourite holiday destination?  Quiet spots in the bush.
