School Uniform

Summer/Winter Uniform
Traditionally, the Summer Uniform has been worn in Terms 1 & 4, while the Winter Uniform has traditionally been worn in Terms 2 & 3. The change to our policy is that we are now not mandating which uniform should be worn in which term, which will allow for the Summer or Winter Uniform to be worn at any stage throughout the school year. Children may wear either uniform throughout the year, as long as it is the full uniform (not mixing Summer with Winter).
The Sport Uniform can only be worn on days the children have sport, or as requested by the school. There will be times throughout the year that we request all children to be in one or other of the uniforms (eg. School Photos), so there will be a need for you to have both sets of Summer & Winter Uniform.
There are a number of reasons behind this change:
- Comfort: Some children find the summer uniform less restrictive and are therefore more productive at school
- Secondary Schools: A number of secondary schools are following this same policy change with flexibility between Summer & Winter Uniforms
- Hot/Cold: We have extreme weather patterns in Melbourne and there will be days when one uniform is better to wear than another We encourage a common sense approach to the wearing of the uniform, particularly on days of extreme weather.
Sport Uniform
Over the past couple of years, Holy Saviour School has been working through a process of relaunching our House Colours to build a sense of pride and ownership across the school. As most of you would be aware, we have aligned our colours with significant people & places associated with the history of Holy Saviour. To continue this process, we propose phasing out the Sky Blue polo and Senior Sports Top, and introduce House Colour Sport Polos, beginning in 2022.
The School Advisory Council was presented with three possible options for the new sport polos, and unanimously selected the following option:
The decision behind choosing this design was that School Leadership and the School Advisory Council felt it to be a smarter, more uniform design from Prep to Year 6. Like any uniform change, there will be a “phasing in period” for the new sport polos, with the expectation that by 2024, all children will be wearing the new polos.
The polos will be available to purchase this year from our uniform supplier PSW. More details on availability and pricing will follow next week.

PSW Uniforms
Please note that PSW Uniforms have closed their Mount Waverley store and have moved to their new premises at 342-350 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley. This new store continues to stock the full range of the Holy Saviour uniform. Please click here for store details and to order online.
We also remind parents that term 1 has a ‘No Hat – No Play’ Sunsmart policy. It must also be a proper Holy Saviour hat, normal caps with other logos are not our school uniform and children will not be allowed to play unless it is the proper hat. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
