For the last week of term 3 in French, our junior kids watched a French movie on bugs, "Minuscule".

Minuscule: Valley of the Lost Ants (FrenchMinuscule : La vallée des fourmis perdues) is a 2013 French-Belgian live action animated film based on the television series Minuscule. The film was written and directed by series creators Hélène Giraud and Thomas Szabo. This film is a sound film with a synchronized soundtrack featuring music and sound effects and with little to no spoken dialogue.[4] It won the César Award for Best Animated Feature Film at the 40th César Awards.

 

Senior students watched "Un monstre a Paris". In week 9 we actually prepared for the movie to learn about characters and the story line and all students watched it in French, subtitled in English to get familiar with the sound of French.

 

A Monster in Paris (FrenchUn monstre à Paris) is a 2011 French 3D computer-animated musical comedy science fantasy adventure film directed by Bibo Bergeron, and based on a story he wrote. It was produced by Luc Besson, written by Bergeron and Stéphane Kazandjian, and distributed by EuropaCorp Distribution, and features the voices of Sean LennonVanessa ParadisAdam GoldbergDanny HustonMadeline Zima, Matthew Géczy, Jay HarringtonCatherine O'Hara, and Bob Balaban. Many aspects of the film are a direct copy from Gaston Leroux's novel The Phantom of the Opera. It was released on 12 October 2011.
