At recess today a Year 12 School based RE class gave away free cupcakes. It was part of their community service practice and fitted in with our topic of “Strength and Kindliness” as an act of  kindness. During periods one and two the class was divided into five groups and given a packet of cupcake mix and the extra ingredients required. Under Masterchef pressure they mixed, baked, iced and cleaned up their work station. Year 12 students were so cooperative and creative in their groups and the icing was amazing to watch. One particular group made meringues for the top of their cupcakes. Lucy came out to judge the final results and the “meringue” group were judged the winners. Above are some photos of the session. Let the pictures tell the story. By the way, from the announcement in the quadrangle that free cupcakes were on offer, it took three and half minutes to distribute the 80 or so we created.

Well done on a mighty effort Year 12!

Prayer

Compassionate God, you have given all peoples one common origin.

It is your will that all be gathered together

as one family in yourself.

Fill the hearts of people with the fire of your love

and with the desire to ensure justice for all.

By sharing the good things you give us,

may we secure an equality for all

our brothers and sisters throughout the world.

May there be an end to conflict

May there be a dawning of a truly human society

built on love and peace.

We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord.
