Share the Dignity Drive:

Share the Dignity is an organisation which collects essential items for people who are in need and helps to stop period poverty. In 2021 Share the dignity / It’s In The Bag donated 100,174 bags in the last 5 years, they were able to donate 721,877 bags.

Senior VCAL aims to collect 100 full bags from Killester College, ready to donate. Please help us to support those in need by donating essential items like; shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, soaps, pads and deodorants. There are tubs for the donations in all classrooms and in the staffroom.

Make sure not to donate: Aerosols, Glass, Food, drinks, Sharps eg: Razors, Open / used items and Pharmaceuticals as they do not take these items.

Thank you for your support as a school and hopefully we can contribute to the end of period poverty together!

From Senior VCAL

The Senior VCAL students want to thank Bakers Delight Dingley for their kind donation of bread and the opportunity they gave to the Breakfast Club. Without their kindness, we wouldn’t be able to run the Breakfast club the way we intended to. 622 students received toast with a topping of their choice. The whole Killester College community wants to thank Bakers Delight Dingley.

BREAKFAST CLUB

The City of Greater Dandenong hosted an event on the 23rd of August with Emerson School and Killester College, Year 11 VCAL.

"We introduced ourselves to the students from Emerson School for the first time and played activities with them so that we would be able to work together on the day of the event at Killester College on the 15th of September. I realised that I went to primary school with one of the students. The Emerson students were uncomfortable at the start but with every activity, they started to open up."

Vicki G, Year 11 VCAL

"Working with Emerson School was a wonderful opportunity. The students were really kind and we found out that there were some things that we had in common with them through the bingo game."

Eden G, Year 11 VCAL

"I enjoyed working with Emerson School because we were able to come up with ideas for the event together."
