Student Run iSupport
On Monday 25 July, the Year 11 cohort divided into activity groups for a student-run, teacher assisted session. Months before, the Year 11 SLC team came together to discuss this iSupport session, volunteering to organise certain activities and then split into pairs to plan their event. A form was then sent out to all Year 11 students asking for their group preference, giving them agency in their activity choice, which was then sorted through by one of the SLC students, who ensured that all those who completed their form would receive the activity of their choice. This freedom of choice coupled with a student-run session led to a very fun afternoon!
The sessions were; team building, yoga, mindful colouring, wellbeing, university visit, trivia and more.
Team building was altered due to the heavy rain, but the group overcame the obstacle of weather and adapted to the new environment. An intense game of silent ball and celebrity heads allowed students to destress from schoolwork and enjoy the company of their classmates. A small group of Year 11 students were led by the Year 12 Coordinator Ms Carla Caminiti through a yoga practice. She spoke to them about the benefits of practicing yoga and the many ways in which it is practiced in modern-day society. The group was assisted and guided through a beginner flow and was encouraged to incorporate such practices into their daily lives. The mindful colouring groups participated in a relaxing afternoon of NAIDOC week inspired colouring while listening to calming music and talking to peers. This was an effective way for students to reset and simply enjoy colouring. The trivia sessions, run via Kahoot, began as general knowledge but shifted to topics selected by the students. A small prize for each Kahoot added stakes to the game and created fierce but healthy competition amongst the participants. Mrs Sharon Bourne shared excellent knowledge about what university is like and two former students from the Class of 2020; Tavi Sharma and Elly Howell answered questions from students in that session. Overall, the iSupport session was enjoyed by all. A session was also run by members of the Chill Out and Look About (COLA) initiative who enjoyed getting insights into road safety issues of concern for our students.

Reading Celebration
Well done to the students in Year s 7B and 8E. These two classes read the most pages throughout Semester 1 and were rewarded with a morning tea for the class to celebrate. Year 7B read a total of 79,370 pages to gain the prize. Year 8E narrowly missed out on a reward at the end of last year and used this to drive them to success this semester with an astonishing 194,468 pages read in Semester 1.
Well done to all, the pictures are a few members of 8E enjoying the morning tea reward.
Pizza parties are on offer for the end of the year, so keep reading, every page counts.
