Specialist Classes

STEM

Our topic this term in STEM is ‘What’s Alive?’ which will see us explore lots of different related concepts. The next two week we are investigating seed dispersal focusing on both pine cones and sycamore seed pods. We are learning just how clever Mother Nature is in protecting the germinating process.

Art

There has been lots of creating and learning happening during Art lessons the last few weeks.

The Foundation, 1 and 2 students have been constructing their own Australian bird mobile by looking at different Australian birds and features they have and also creating some 3D gum nuts and leaves out of paper. We can’t wait to finish and display them for everyone to see and enjoy.

Grade 3-6 students have been refining their modelling and clay skills and techniques. They have been looking at various ceramic artists and have designed and begun modelling their own trinket dishes inspired by nature. The next step is to add colour by painting the dried clay dishes and then glaze them. So much creative thinking, problem solving and most importantly, enjoyment in the creative journey happening. Well done everyone.

Sport

We had a whole school multi-age tabloid sports day. The activities included:

Parachute with Miss Bennett

Goal Shooting with Harry

Tunnel Ball with Mrs Stock

Mixed Games with Jaleigha

Sticky Tennis with Emma

Scoop Throwing with Mrs Hill

Batting with David

Skipping with Mrs Stockdale
