Model UN

On Thursday 17th of November, our Year 10's 

competed in a Model UN discussing "Protecting Antarctica, the earth's last wilderness." Such a great opportunity and experience for them all. Big thank you to all the teachers involved in organising this event.

Movember

The sun was shining  for our JMSS Mo-Bros pancake lunch!

Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues. Congratulations to our JMSS team! A great cause!

Congratulations Himalaya

Congratulations to Himalaya Joshi, another incredible achievement for his short films.  His two science films - Pandemoniumand Methane: An Underdog Villain of Global Warming - have won three awards at the Canberra Short Film Festival (CSFF), in addition to being selected:

  • Pandemonium:
    • Highly Commended - Best Documentary
    • Highly Commended - Best Under-18 Film
  • Methane: An Underdog Villain of Global Warming:
    • Highly Commended - Best 2-minute Film

Besides these, he has a third film releasing soon - called 'The End' - which is a fictional, psychological short film addressing the experience of clinical anxiety amongst teenagers. He produced it for my final Media SAC this year with an A+ grade. Well done HImalaya! So very proud of your artistic achievements!

JMSS Jazz Night

On the 17th of November the music team hosted an incredible Jazz Evening.

Congratulations to all students and staff who participated. After a few years of no events, it's wonderful to have the halls of JMSS filled with music again! We have such an incredible bunch of musicians!

Events are back!

What an inspiring evening at the Robert Blackwood Hall.

Was wonderful to close the year all together, celebrating the years achievements. 

Congratulations to all students, you all should be so proud of your efforts and accomplishments.

 

 

Year 12 After Party

The Year 12's deserved a party to celebrate with their family and friends. 

JMSS hosted a huge party filled with photographers, DJ, finger food and a balloon arch!! Here is just a snippet of the fun....

 

Monash Youth Services

Join us for a conversation about accessibility!

 We are looking to make Monash Youth Services (MYS) more accessible to all members of the community and will be holding a conversation with young people in the community to workshop ideas for 2023. 

 

When: Wednesday 11th January, 2pm to 4pm

Where:Monash Youth Services - Level 1, 2 Euneva Ave Glen Waverley

 

We would love to hear from you if you are aged 10 – 25 and identify as:

  • Having a health condition or chronic illness
  • Neurodiverse and/or autistic, dyslexic, dyspraxic or ADHD
  • Blind or vision impaired
  • Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Disabled or have a disability
  • Having mental illness
  • Or have an interest in accessible and inclusive spaces.

MYS is accessible via lift.  Please let us know what we can do to help you attend the session.
