'Seasons for Growth' Program

Learning to live with change and loss

Br Tony Cummins

Change and loss are issues that affect all of us at some stage in our lives. At St Bede’s College, we recognise that when changes occur in families through death, separation, divorce and related circumstances, young people may benefit from learning how to manage these changes.

The program aims to establish effective ways to manage these changes effectively. The Seasons For Growth (SFG) program focuses on issues such as self-esteem, managing feelings, problem-solving, decision-making, effective communication and support networks.

The Mentone campus has begun the SFG Program with a small group of students from Years 7 and 8, accompanied by Kim Ruffels and Br Tony Cummins. The group meets each Friday over lunch to discuss our ideas and to share experiences of change and loss, which are issues that affect us all at some stage in our lives.

It is our hope that this will be the first of many SFG programs at St Bede’s College. If parents and carers require further information, or would like to register their child for the program in 2023, please contact either -
